Prof. Bartlett's research interests focus on the electrodeposition of functional and nanostructured materials and bioelectrochemistry. He has developed techniques for depositing tiny amounts of material on the nanoscale and controlling the nanostructure of deposits. Prof. Bartlett has also developed novel structures for electrochemical SERS and used these for DNA detection.
Prof. Bartlett has published over 390 articles, and his research is cited over 18900 times.
Professor and Director of the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland.
His scientific interest is focused on the electrochemical behavior of suspended nano-objects and reactions at liquid-liquid interfaces. Nanoparticles suspensions are studied in forced convection conditions: at rotating disc electrodes and in flow. For their detection, electrocatalytic, electrodissolution, and redox reactions are employed. Studies of the liquid-liquid interface are focused on oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy based methods of determination of the efficiency of these reactions were developed.

Prof. D’Souza’s research interest includes supramolecular chemistry, photoelectrochemistry, photovoltaics, ultrafast laser spectroscopy, electrochemical and photochemical sensors.

Prof. Karyakin contributed to the discovery of a new class of conductive polymers: electropolymerized azines. He developed an iron hexacyanoferrate-based electrocatalyst for the reduction of hydrogen peroxide. The combination of an electrocatalyst and an immobilization protocol from aqueous-organic media, also developed by Prof. Karjakin, led to the creation of biosensors with great sensitivity, selectivity, and stability in the industry, as well as in medicine, in particular, in non-invasive diagnostics.

Prof. Blanchard’s research is in the area of interfacial and thin-film science, intending to make interfaces and thin films that exhibit specific chemical selectivity. This work involves designing and synthesizing targeted interfacial systems and their characterization by spectroscopic, microscopic, and electrochemical techniques. Applications of this work range from chemical sensing and separations through heterogeneous catalysis and control over both linear and nonlinear optical properties. (source)
