The 6th International Workshop on Surface Modification for Chemical and Biochemical Sensing, SMCBS'2013, was organized by the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Science on November 8 through 12, 2013. The SMCBS’2013 Workshop was one of the activities within the Work Package WP3 “Chemo- and Biosensors – molecular imprinting” (Task 3.5) of the NanOtechnology, Biomaterials and ALternative Energy Source for ERA Integration (FP7-REGPOT-CT-2011-285949-NOBLESSE) Project of the European Commission organized under the auspices of the Bioelectrochemistry Section of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) and the Bioelectrochemical Society (BES). This Workshop hosted in total 113 participants in a single location – a Łochów manor house – providing many opportunities for discussion outside the lecture hall and exchange of ideas that might lead to new concepts, collaborations, and joint research projects.
